The Future of Publishing

I came across this video today at work. The blog my coworker found it on (I can't recall the name) thought the video came across as completely annoying, wrong, or patronizing. While I can understand their opinions, my first thoughts of the video were this: Wow, that is really clever. I care less that it is a publishing company who created it. I don't care that they are just using it as a marketing tool. What I like is the creativity it took. And the fact that it has a good message.

Being an unpublished writer, I still have high hopes for the publishing industry. I want to see my book on a shelf in an actual store. Sure, selling books in general would be nice, but I want to be able to autograph my work. I open it and smell the lovely book smell. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here. But anyway, here is the video. I hope you can enjoy it for what it is.
