I still have remained a bad blogger. But things have changed in my life. I no longer feel tethered to my computer. And it feels exhilarating. I'm bored with the internet, I think. Sure, I read my emails, and I check facebook now and again, but I don't spend hours on it. In fact, I haven't written anything more for my novel in a while as well. I guess, I'm just enjoying life, or as much as I can of it.
It also helps that I just returned from a nice, relaxing trip to the beach. I brought my laptop and didn't open it once. It was brilliant. Sooner or later (really, it should be sooner), I will get back into writing and editing my novels, but things in my personal life have been a little rocky. It's okay to take a little time away from writing, isn't it? Does it make me a bad writer to not have written in a few weeks? It's strange, but I feel so little guilt for taking this break.
Hope everyone else's writing projects are going well. And your summer as well.
So what do you don instead, with all that time you doesn't spend online anymore?

I've been reading more and hanging out with friends. In fact, I've spent so much time with friends that I find myself at a loss of what to do some nights when I'm alone.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with taking time away from writing. As long as you're keeping your mind open and staying creative. I like to read books when I'm not writing. Maybe watch one of my favorite movies. Or paint. :-) Sometimes though when I'm most upset, I find writing comforting because I can put my worries and fears into my characters and let them fix everything for me.
