Getting Settled

I am almost, but not quite, finished with moving. I have a few more boxes and maybe a hour or two of cleaning the apartment left. It's a relief, but not such a relief that I can celebrate. I still have boxes to unpack, schools to apply to, etc. So, not only do I have to get settled into my new place, once that is over, I have to settle into a new rhythm of writing.

The situation I used to live in wasn't as conducive to writing as I had hoped, and so I got so little done. But I'm looking forward to restarting my life. Doing the things I meant to do all year, getting a jump on being fit, starting that new novel that I've been dying to write, etc. And this starts in December.

A day late for WIP Wednesday, but how is everyone else's work coming along?

I have returned

In more ways than one.

I am back from Chicago. It was beautiful there. The weather was calm and clear and the architecture was gorgeous. I didn't have much time to walk around, but I enjoyed what I could.

Now that I was back in Maryland (as of Sunday night), I decided I needed to get back to work (both real work and writing work). So, I made up my mind and moved out of the apartment I was staying in. I'm back home with my parents (hides head in shame), and what's left for me is to work on my grad applications and to get my butt working on my new novel. Oh, NANO how I've failed thee so far....
